Ballina Shire Community Pools

Ballina Shire Council officially reopened the redeveloped Alstonville Aquatic Centre and Ballina Memorial Pool on Saturday 28 July 2018.

The $14 million community investment ensures that the modern facilities will be enjoyed for generations to come, and the heated pools means that the community can enjoy the early swimming season.

Both pools now boast:

  • FINA compliant 50m heated pool with eight 2.5m-wide lanes for competition swimming and water polo
  • 25m heated enclosable pool for swimming lessons, children’s play, lap swimming and rehabilitation
  • access ramps into pools
  • wet play splash area for children
  • 67 kilowatts of solar panels
  • cafeteria and dining area
  • tiered seating for 300 people
  • enhanced landscaping
  • brand new BBQ facilities + shelters.

The Ballina pool also includes new bathroom, shower and change room facilities and transparent fencing overlooking the Richmond River.

Reciprocal arrangements for pass holders are available. This means that pass holders can access both the Alstonville and Ballina pool facilities, regardless of which pool the pass was purchased. The reciprocal arrangements include all passes: adults, children, families, concession annual, three month and ten-ticket passes, as well as season passes.

The open season will continue until 31 May 2019.
