World Environment Day 2016
The next World Environment Day Tree Planting day on Lennox headland is Friday 2 June 2017.
During the 2016 14th annual Lennox Headland Community Tree Planting Event, 133 people from the Lennox Head community, Geolink, the Lennox Lions Club, Lennox Head Landcare Group, the Lennox Head Primary School and Ballina Council took part in the celebratory planting day.
Talks from Rainforest Rescue, whales breaching and a passing rain shower with rainbows made the day. Art prizes were awarded too.
Mostly sunny weather and a picturesque ocean again made for a successful day with 1000 plants planted, mulched, staked and watered. The Lennox Lions Club cooked up another BBQ feast for all the planters with drinks and other refreshments including ice creams.
Another patch of weeds has been replaced with littoral rainforest seedlings leaving a natural legacy for future generations.
