Festivals and Events Funding

Ballina Shire Council's Festival and Event Funding Support Program opens in October each year. Local Event organisers are invited annually to express an interest by completing an online application and lodging it with Council. There is a total amount of approximately $150,000 available for distribution for event sponsorship opportunities.

Festival and Event Acquittals

In addition to the application process, Council measures its investment in the Festivals and Events Support Program by requesting event organisers provide survey results from their event and acquittal of funding. Both of these requirements are also useful tools for event organisers in planning and developing future events.

The sample survey provided below can be tailored to meet the needs of event organisers. To ensure a significant proportion of attendees provide feedback, it is important that surveys are conducted by event organisers or experienced volunteers. Although the completion of event surveys is not mandatory for funding, it is highly regarded when organisers seek future funding. Survey results may also assist event organisers in securing other government funding.

Recipient organisations must submit a completed acquittal form within six weeks after the event. The acquittal form is a written overview of the event outcomes, including statistical and financial information.
