The national theme for 2025 is The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy. This year marks the 50th anniversary of NAIDOC Week, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Annual Celebration Walk

Monday 7 July 2025

River Street, Ballina. Everyone is invited to join the walk at 10am from Ballina RSL Club along River Street to the Ballina Visitor Information Centre for the official flag raising ceremony, speeches, dances, BBQ, displays, stalls and games. Morning tea provided for community Elders in the Richmond Room.


Elders Luncheon

Tuesday 8 July 2025

3 x 3 Basketball

Wednesday 9 July 2025

Gariima Elders Group Exhibition

9 - 13 July 2025

Ignite Studios, 60 Crane Street, Ballina. 10am - 2pm Wed - Fri, 10am - 1pm Sat - Sun. A pop-up exhibition by local Ballina CPL Gariima Elders Group for NAIDOC Week, representing themes of family, cultural connections, colours of country, nature, gathering, ceremony and homeland, and using a combination of natural ochres and other materials sourced on Bundjalung Country. Goori Cultural Art and Music Festival

Nyangbal NAIDOC Exhibition

Northern Rivers Community Gallery, 44 Cherry Street, Ballina. An exhibition of four emerging Nyangbal artists, Daniel Roberts, Savannah Hickling, Loren Del Signore and Levi Roberts, celebrating the 2025 NAIDOC theme Next Generation - Strength, Vision & LegacyOpen Wed-Fri 9am -3pm | Sat-Sun 9.30am -1pm.
