Certifiers at Ballina Shire Council

Ballina Shire Council issues Construction Certificates (CCs), Complying Development Certificates (CDCs) and Occupation Certificates (OCs) for development in the Shire. Council also carries out the functions of the Principal Certifier for the project and inspects the work at all critical stages.

It is the property owner's choice as to who they appoint as the certifier. Council Certifiers are impartial and work in the interest of the owner to ensure the building is consistent with the approved plans and suitable for occupation.

Council employs registered certifiers with unrestricted accreditation under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act. We are authorised to certify all NCC building classes within the shire.
